Super Sunday!

A few years back we wrote a blog post on things to watch out for super bowl weekend. Here are the 5 tips we gave:

1. Watch for hidden calories in your drinks!
2. Look out for dips!
3. Watch the Chips!
4. Make your own food!

With the 50th super bowl coming up soon, we wanted to expand our tips to help you prepare for the upcoming big game. So here are a few more tips that can help you survive super bowl Sunday without too much difficulty.

5. Get a good workout in on Sunday. We know it’s cold and snowy outside, but do you best to not have a lazy Sunday and get to the gym. Try to get I a solid workout, including some weights and cardio. Even if Sunday isn’t you “normal” gym day, try to squeeze in an extra day.

6. Stay hydrated. This is good advice for everyday life, not just for super bowl Sunday. But staying hydrated will keep you fuller for longer, it will also help combat the onslaught of salty snacks found at your average super bowl party. Drink more water!

7. Bring healthy food. If you are going to a party, offer to bring a dish and make that dish a healthy one. Bringing your own dish allows you to control the ingredients that go into it. Also, it gives you a guaranteed healthy option during your party

8. Don’t stress the one day. In the end super bowl Sunday is just one day, it won’t blow your whole week, as long as you don’t make it a habit. Two pieces of good advice to live by: Everything in moderation and you can’t outrun a bad diet. Keep these two tips in mind and you’ll be fine.
