A Gameplan for the Super Bowl

Monday, January 19th, 2015

It’s Super bowl season! The big match up this year pits the Seattle Seahawks versus the New England Patriots. It promises to be a great game of football, paired with great commercials and a spectacular half time show. But the real centerpiece of this event, it the traditional super bowl party. Maybe the super bowl isn’t your thing, and you’re more of a fan of the puppy bowl. Regardless of where you stand, here are a few things you can keep in your pocket for the day.
First, here is an old, but good blog post of cutting calories during the Super bowl: It’s good to keep that information in your back pocket come game day.

Second, you also must realize it’s just a game, just one day, so sometimes its okay to splurge a little. Just make sure not to take that opportunity every day. It is a common misconception that maybe a ton of working out can help balance a bad diet. That is simply not true. You can’t out exercise a bad diet. You can exercise regularly and eat healthy most of the time. This will lead you to a better and overall healthier lifestyle. One day at a super bowl party won’t kill you if you are on the right path the rest of the time.

So here are a few tips for you to be successful and have a fun super bowl:

1. Maybe try cutting your calories on a few items during your super bowl party
2. Be “good” the week leading up to the party. Keep your diet full of fruits and veggies and gear yourself up for the big game.
3. Hit the gym regularly the week before, and plot out your following weeks exercise routines in advance.
4. The super bowl comes every year, just like Christmas and new years. This same strategy applies to most holiday occasions.
5. Lastly, don’t stress, it’s just one day….
